How to remember daily vitamins and supplements
If you already take a daily vitamin or supplement, add it manually in NextDose, enter the instructions and reminder time that apply to you, review the entry, and confirm it. Use Taken after taking it so the reminder also leaves a record.
A reminder and a record solve different problems
A work call, school run or commute can interrupt an ordinary daily routine. A phone alarm can get your attention, but dismissing it does not answer the question that comes later: did I take the supplement, or did I only silence the alarm?
A NextDose reminder connects that time to a named entry. Recording Taken gives you something to check afterwards. This can be useful whether you are managing a busy workday in your thirties or forties or simply prefer not to keep the routine in your head.
The app helps you remember and record a routine you already follow. It does not tell you whether you need a supplement or whether it will benefit you.

Install NextDose and sign up
Use the Google Play link and sign in with Google. NextDose is free and ad-free on Android.
Choose Enter manually
From the add control, open Add or update medicines and choose Enter manually. Enter the product name so you can distinguish it from your other entries.
Enter your existing daily instructions
Use the label and any instructions given by your clinician or pharmacist. For a once-daily routine, keep one daily time and check it yourself. Do not copy times, quantities or products from screenshots on this page.
Review, confirm and allow alerts
Open the entry in Review medicines and check the fields, including the dose quantity if applicable. Confirm and save the plan. Complete Android’s notification and alarm prompts, then check that the entry appears in Today.
No prescription photo is required for manual entry, and you do not need AI to create the reminder. If you use a photo or AI instead, review the extracted details before confirming.
Use Taken for the action, not for dismissing the alarm
After taking the supplement, record Taken for that occurrence. If you only silence the alert, the app has no reliable evidence of what happened. Where available, Remind in 10 min requests another alert and leaves the dose unrecorded as Taken.
If you cannot remember later, open Today and check the saved state. An absent Taken entry does not prove you forgot. The dose-record guide explains what the states can and cannot tell you.
If you accidentally marked an entry Taken, undo that action so the record reflects what you know. There is no need to build a streak by recording something that did not happen.
Keep the routine within the instructions
This guide uses a daily routine as its example. NextDose also supports weekly and alternate-day schedules. Set the reminder pattern to match the instructions for the supplement you already take.
If a clinician changes or stops a supplement, update the existing entry and review the saved plan. Avoid keeping an old reminder and adding a second one for the replacement.
This page does not recommend supplements, doses, combinations or a best time to take them. Ask a clinician or pharmacist about suitability, interactions, unclear instructions or what to do if you are uncertain about an intake.
