For the bottle that keeps getting forgotten

The bottle is there. The intention is there. But one morning starts with a meeting, another with the school run, and another with a commute. By evening, you are not sure whether you remembered.

If you are in your thirties or forties juggling work and home, this may be familiar. You do not need a complicated medicine schedule for a reminder to be useful. A single daily multivitamin can be enough reason to use NextDose.

The app gives that routine a name, a daily alert and a place to record what happened. It does not tell you that you need vitamins or that taking them will improve your health.

Why an alarm only solves half the problem

A clock alarm can remind you to look at the bottle. Once dismissed, it usually leaves the same question: did I take it, or did I just stop the noise?

In NextDose, the reminder belongs to the item you added. After taking it, record Taken. If you wonder later, open Today and check the record instead of relying on whether you remember hearing an alarm.

A missing Taken entry is not proof that you forgot. The record is only as accurate as the actions you enter. If you accidentally mark it Taken, use Undo.

Set it up for the one thing you already take

  1. Install and sign in

Get NextDose on Google Play and sign in with Google. It is a free, ad-free Android app.

  2. Enter your vitamin manually

Open Add or update medicines, then Enter manually. Although the screen says medicines, you can add your daily vitamin or supplement here too. Use its product name so you can recognise the reminder.

  3. Check your existing instructions and daily time

Enter the instructions that apply to you from the label and any clinician or pharmacist guidance. Review the quantity and daily time yourself. Confirm and save, complete the Android alert prompts, and check Today.

  4. Record it after taking it

Use I took it from the reminder, or mark it Taken in the app. Where available, Remind in 10 min requests a later alert and keeps the item unrecorded as Taken.

For the detailed walkthrough, see how to set a daily vitamin reminder. You can start with just one item.

Make sure “daily” really means daily

This example follows a daily supplement routine. If yours is weekly or alternate-day, use that schedule in NextDose and check it against the product’s instructions.

If you also take daily prescribed medicines, they can sit in the same confirmed plan, with their own names and times. That does not mean they should be taken together; follow the separate instructions for each.

When a product or its instructions change, update the existing entry and check the saved plan. NextDose helps with remembering and recording. It does not check interactions, choose supplements or recommend doses.

A little less to keep in your head

One daily vitamin. One less thing to remember.

Add the item you already take, confirm its daily reminder, and record it after taking it. No ads and no prescription photo needed.
